Tree Top Lodge
A 5 minute walk from Limefitt Park you will find the lovely Troutbeck church to the left and the Queens Head pub to the right. The Queens Head is slightly pricy on food but offers a very nice pub atmosphere, with log fires and comfy seating, and a fine selection of real ales.
The Mortal Man is a 10 minute walk up to the right and then turn left up the track – it has recently been taken over by new owners who promise affordable meals, a fine selection of ales and offer fantastic views from their beer garden! We have now been able to visit since the new owners took over – and what a difference! We felt we got good value for money – the food was great (the chips are the best we’ve had!) and the drinks not overpriced – along with welcoming atmosphere we had a lovely evening at the Mortal Man!
Walking can be undertaken directly from the park onto the fells and we often walk into Ambleside, Windermere or to Ings from the lodge itself. Ings has a great pub renowned for it’s VAST selection of Real Ales and Whisky, and the food isn’t bad either! Aswell as having direct access onto Wansfell, High Street and the Kirkstone Pass.
