Chester & Millys dog adventures in the Lake District!

Gill and Ian have 2 gorgeous spaniels who love visiting their dog friendly lodge on White Cross Bay – as you can see they have a lot of fun while they’re there and always have something new to do – be it walking on the fells, exploring in the lanes and countryside, or splashing around in the Lake – all of which are very accessible from White Cross Bay.

Dogs are welcome in all of our lodges as we believe that a holiday isn’t a holiday unless all the family are there to enjoy it!  There are so many places that are dog friendly in the Lake District – we really notice the difference up there as the pubs around our local area aren’t as welcoming, or you have to sit out in the beer garden – no matter what the weather is like!  But around Windermere and Ambleside (and particularly around Limefitt Park) most pubs understand that the Lake District is a dog lovers paradise and welcome them in – they might even have biscuits and always have a bowl of water!

Check on the website ‘dog friendly in the lake district’ for some more information about taking your dog to our holiday lodges, around Windermere, Ambleside and the Lake District in general!  Feel free to e-mail or comment with any new places to take your dog or any good walks that you come across – the more information the better – and your photos of you and your dog in the Lake District or at the lodges!!  :-)

Haven’t booked your holidays, midweek break or long weekend break in the Lake District yet?  Then you’ll be happy to hear that we are now advertising another luxury lodge on White Cross Bay which has full availability for 2010 …. to the same high standard as Tree Top Lodge and Calgarth Lodge 53, Calgarth Lodge 14 is another excellent, high standard and comfortable base from which to explore Cumbria, the Lakes and South Lakeland .

We are embarking on a mega challenge and if you would be so kind as to contribute to our fundraising, each person who donates on our just giving page will automatically be included in a draw for a weekend or midweek break at the lodge of your choice (unfortunately not Xmas or New Year or when full weeks only advertised – but that still leaves plenty of scope!)

The draw will take place on Sunday 2nd May and the winner will be posted here!   Just click on the widget for more information and to contribute!

I forgot to post this photo of Limefitt Park looking towards Wansfell and Troutbeck. This was taken from up and behind the Haybarn Inn – can’t quite pinpoint Tree Top Lodge (our lovely self catering lodge in the lake district :-) through the trees but it’s in there somewhere!! :-) This is one of our favourite routes going to Orrest Head and Windermere and then down into Bowness! We are looking forward to taking Jester up and around this way as there aren’t too many sheep!

Dog lovers visiting Lake District

Dog owners are delighted with the new luxury lodge at White Cross Bay – they love the fact that it’s so close to the Lake but still in a secluded spot, with excellent facilities so close to both Windermere and Ambleside.  Having visited Tree Top Lodge at Limefitt Park already this year they are going to find it difficult to choose which lodge to visit next, using their 5% discount for returning customers!  The enclosed garden is a big hit! Look out for more information on things to do in the Lake District, Windermere, Ambleside and lots of other places, coming soon to the website. Photos of White Cross Bay and of course information on up and coming events across the Lake District will be added asap!
